SaaMiaow Mart is a cat-themed brand and online shop based in British Columbia, created by industrial designer and software developer Asa Xiao.

The name “SaaMiaow” comes from Mandarin and roughly sounds like “silly cat,” which also became the name of the original cat character behind the brand. With droopy eyes, a fuzzy tail, and a calm “whatever” expression, SaaMiaow was first doodled in a notebook during a stressful university lecture. What started as a small emotional outlet slowly grew into a character that expresses feelings many people quietly relate to: stress, introversion, solitude, emotional exhaustion, calmness, and carefree energy.

Beyond the original character and products, SaaMiaow Mart also values originality and independent creativity.
